Oil for the BIG slab saws....... on the way!!!!!

Yay!!!!! I finally bit the bullet and got oil for the big saws ordered!!!!! I must admit, I'm a little intimidated to use them, I don't want to damage it not know how to brace the big ole rocks best. I know you can use shims and glue wood to get a better grip.. I'll get Josh to help!! He's my mechanical genius!

Started cutting some stones this weekend, Interesting materials!

I wanted to start making cabochons out of some of the neat materials I have picked up from various places.  Fun stuff, but takes time. Here I picked the shapes I want to cut out.

Unique Stones in Jewelry- that will dazzle your eyes

I have been making jewelry for nearly a decade now. I started out as a rockhound developing a love of all stones that are unique in some way. I specialize in stones with that extra eye-catching sparkle, flash, multitude of colors or color change. Naturally jewelry making became a way to turn many of my finds into a way to get some of that money back. I have mostly sold to friends and family, or word of mouth. Now I wanted to try a wider area. I use sterling silver or gold filled wire. Gold filled, which if you don't know has a thicker layer of gold rather than the very thin layer of gold on plated metals.
I also do oil paintings. I have the most wonderful paints that have shimmer and iridescence that change with the different types of light and angle you look at it. It gives them a whole new life.
